Triggered Company Disruptor AR-15 Forced Reset
Price range: $275.00 through $425.00
The Triggered Company Disruptor is a 3-position, drop-in forced reset trigger for the AR-15 platform, available with a standard right-hand selector or an ambidextrous selector with levers on both sides of the receiver. Choose your selector and your package: trigger only, or bundled with an H3 heavy buffer, an M16-profile black nitride bolt carrier group, or both. Machined from heat-treated 4140 chromoly and 17-4 stainless steel, tested beyond 6,000 rounds under a course of fire derived from USMC M27 IAR evaluation criteria, and made in the USA. A true drop-in cassette — no gunsmithing, fitting, or permanent modification required. Firearm Systems is the master distributor for The Triggered Company; orders ship from Phoenix, Arizona.

Description
What is the Triggered Company Disruptor?
The Disruptor is a drop-in, 3-position forced reset trigger for the AR-15 platform. Descended from the original Tac-Con 3MR design (US Patent 9146067), it is an assisted-reset trigger: after each shot the trigger is mechanically driven forward against your finger, shortening the reset stroke so follow-up shots are faster and more consistent. Unlike a Super Safety, it is a true replacement fire control group — not a modification to your existing trigger, and not a drop-in auto sear.
Firearm Systems is the master distributor for The Triggered Company. Orders ship from our Phoenix, Arizona warehouse.
Choose your selector: right-hand or ambidextrous
This product is available in two selector configurations. They share the same cassette, the same fire control geometry, the same materials, and the same three firing positions — the only difference is the safety selector.
- Right-Hand — the standard configuration, with a selector lever on the left side of the receiver.
- Ambidextrous — adds a second selector lever on the right side, so the safety can be operated from either side. Left-handed shooters can move the selector with their trigger-hand thumb instead of reaching under or over the receiver, and right-handed shooters gain a support-side lever. The ambidextrous option is $25 more than the right-hand version.
Choose your package
Forced reset triggers are timing-sensitive. A light carbine buffer or a standard semi-automatic carrier can cause bolt bounce and inconsistent resets, so we offer the trigger on its own or matched with the components that make it run reliably.
| Package | What’s included | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger Only | Disruptor cassette | Builds that already run an H2/H3 buffer and an M16-profile carrier |
| Trigger + H3 Buffer | Disruptor cassette, H3 heavy buffer (approx. 5.4 oz) | Fixing bolt bounce and dead triggers on a standard carbine |
| Trigger + M16 BCG | Disruptor cassette, black nitride M16-profile bolt carrier group | Builds running a semi-automatic carrier that need full-auto sear geometry |
| Trigger + M16 BCG & H3 Buffer | Disruptor cassette, black nitride M16 bolt carrier group, H3 heavy buffer | A complete, no-guesswork forced reset build |
About the H3 heavy buffer
Most standard carbines ship with a buffer of roughly 3 oz. With a forced reset trigger that light weight leads to erratic cycling. The H3 buffer weighs approximately 5.4 oz and uses a heavier three-weight design to increase dwell time, keep the carrier fully seated before the next reset, and smooth out the recoil impulse during rapid fire.
About the M16-profile bolt carrier group
The M16 profile provides the sear-trip geometry and added reciprocating mass that forced reset systems rely on. The black nitride finish is harder than chrome, reducing friction and making cleanup easy.
Three positions
- Safe — standard safe position.
- Semi-Automatic — conventional semi-automatic fire.
- Enhanced Semi-Automatic — the forced reset mode, in which the trigger is mechanically returned forward after each shot.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the right-hand and ambidextrous Disruptor?
Only the selector. The ambidextrous version adds a second selector lever so the safety can be operated from either side of the receiver. The trigger cassette, materials, pull weight, reset behavior, and installation are identical. The ambidextrous option costs $25 more.
Do I need a gunsmith to install it?
No. The Disruptor is a self-contained drop-in cassette for mil-spec AR-15 lowers. No fitting, filing, or permanent modification is required. See our install and troubleshooting guide.
Is this the same thing as a Super Safety?
No. A Super Safety replaces the selector in order to alter an existing trigger. The Disruptor is a complete drop-in replacement fire control group with its own three-position selector.
What buffer do I need?
A minimum H2 buffer is required, and an H3 (approximately 5.4 oz) is recommended, for carbine extensions and 16-inch or shorter barrels. A standard rifle buffer is appropriate for 20-inch A2 stocks. Too little reciprocating mass is the most common cause of a dead trigger on a forced reset build.
Do I need a full-auto bolt carrier group?
An M16-profile carrier is strongly recommended. It provides the sear-trip geometry and mass that forced reset triggers rely on for consistent timing.
Will it work on a 9mm AR build?
Compatibility varies by build. See our Disruptor FAQ for notes on buffers, carriers, and 9mm platforms.
Is a forced reset trigger legal in my state?
Federal and state treatment of forced reset triggers differs, and state law changes. Read our federal vs. state legal guide before ordering and confirm the rules where you live.
