Full Size Glock Carbine Conversion Unit
$350 + S/H
Muzzle velocity is increased by some 40%, not to mention greater accuracy at greater distances. Please specify caliber wanted. This product is available in the Glock 'Full Size' series models G17 & G34 (9mm), G20 (10mm), G22 & G35 (40 SW), G21 (45ACP), and G31 (357 Sig). With the Mech Tech CCU there is the option of caliber "juggling" between certain models for example. If you have a G21 (45 ACP) the frame will work with a 10mm CCU if you use a 10mm Glock magazine. The converse also applies - a G20 (10mm) frame will work with a 45 ACP CCU if you use a Glock 45 magazine. The G20 and 21 models are different in size from all the other 'Full Size' frames. All the other full size models can be "juggled" to accept different calibers. Therefore a CCU designed for the Glock models G17, G22, G31, G34 and G35 will work with any frame from these models - just use the correct magazine.

Compact (Mid-size) Glock Carbine Conversion Unit
$350 + S/H
Muzzle velocity is increased by some 40%, not to mention greater accuracy at greater distances. Please specify caliber wanted. This product is available in the Glock 'Compact' series models G19(9mm), G23(40 S&W) and G32(357 Sig). As with the the full size frames you can change the calibers between the three as long as the proper magazine is used in your frame. The reason for stating the foregoing is to indicate that a Mech-Tech CCU can be of a different caliber than the Glock pistol within the respective Glock series. This is handy for those who own 9mm Glocks and want a more potent caliber CCU.

Mech-Tech manufactures a Carbine Conversion Unit (CCU), which will turn the pistol into a handy short rifle. The resulting combination operates in semi-auto mode just as the pistol and fires the same pistol ammunition. The conversion requires no modifications to the pistol and is totally reversible. The CCU is fitted with a Weaver style sight rail to which a variety of optical sighting devices may be attached. Benefits of the Mech-Tech CCU are increased accuracy, increased power, same familiar 'feel' as the pistol, same pistol magazines, easy to use and just plain fun to shoot! There is also available a metallic aperture style sighting system which has additional accessory rails for such items as tactical flash lights and laser aimers.

The Mech-Tech CCU is a unique product of superior design, all CNC machined, which adds great additional versatility to your 1911 style pistol. The CCU functions in semi-auto mode and shoots the same pistol ammunition with an increase in muzzle energy up to 40%! Several accessories are available as shown here and on the 'Home Page' photo. The fixed sight system (an accessory) is an aperture or 'ghost ring' style with a post at the front. The sights are adjustable for windage and elevation. The fixed sight system main rail has integrated into its design a Weaver style base running the full length between the rear and front protective 'ears'. A set of transverse grooves near the rear and also the front 'ears' allows mounting standard and long-eye-relief optics. By using 'see-thru' type mounts, both the fixed sights and the optical sight may be used. Finish on the main housing is textured powder coating. Absolutely no modifications to the pistol are required, quick and easy to reverse.
The CCU may be a different caliber from that of the pistol with certain limitations. A .45ACP pistol will function with a 40 S&W or 10mm CCU simply by using the appropriate magazine. Conversely, non .45 pistols will work with all CCU calibers - again use the appropriate magazine.
The 'Basic' unit is what you purchase. The customer supplies the pistol. The accessories are ordered separately.
Certain 1911 style pistols such as the Para ordnance line have modified receivers which leave an opening in the magazine well in an area critical to proper feeding when these pistols are used with a CCU. Mech-Tech has designed a clever insert called a 'Para Block' which solves the problem.

The Mid-Size Glock CCU is available in 3 models, G19(9mm), G23(40 S&W) and G32(357 Sig). As with the the full size frames you can change the calibers between the three as long as the proper magazine is used in your frame.

This is the basic Glock CCU without receiver. The Basic unit includes a Weaver style scope base. This unit is equipped with the optional muzzle feature.
|
 |
This is a 'Glock Block' which is supplied with every Glock style CCU. This device provides the feed ramp needed just below the chamber of the barrel. When properly installed with the Glock lower and the CCU, the 'Glock Block' can not fall out of the unit.

 |
To the left is the 'Glock-Block' in position on a Glock lower. With the Glock-Block positioned as shown, the lower is installed into the CCU and the Glock-Block provides the necessary feed ramp.

Fit Alert: It has recently come to our attention that certain older G17 frames will not fit our Glock CCU. We do not as yet have a complete handle on just what serial number range is involved but to date most such lowers have 'KY' at the beginning of their s/n's. There is an easy fix for this for those daring enough to consider a simple mod to the frame. The guilty feature is a non-functional plastic flash near the metal rail tabs. This flash can be removed with a pocket knife and is of no consequence to the proper function of the pistol. This flash interferes with insertion of the lower into our CCU. Check with Mech-Tech customer support or a competent gunsmith for details.
Legal Alert: Although the product of itself is legal, the resulting combination with a pistol frame becomes illegal under California law. Please contact Mech-Tech for details relative to dealer sales in CA. At this time we know of no other states where the combination is not legal but we caution everyone to become aware of relative state and local laws.
